Dr. David B. Hand
eAcademy Superintendent & Dean of the ORU School of Education

Dr. Hand has served as Dean of the School of Education since 1998. Previous to his current position he served for over 11 years as the director of the Oral Roberts University Educational Fellowship (ORUEF) and the International Christian Accrediting Association (ICAA). Dr. Hand received his doctorate degree in Adult Education from Oklahoma State University and both his Masters and Bachelors Degrees from Oral Roberts University. He has been a professional educator serving as a teacher, administrator, and professor in elementary, secondary and postsecondary education since 1973.


Dr. Kim E. Boyd
eAcademy Assistant Superintendent & Associate Dean of the School of Education

Dr. Boyd has served as Associate Dean of the School of Education since 1998. Previous to her current position she served for over 9 years as an instructor/professor in the School of Education and over 8 years as a classroom teacher in the Sapulpa Public Schools. Dr. Boyd received her doctorate degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Oklahoma State University. Her Masters degree is in Reading from Northeastern State University and her Bachelors Degrees is from Oral Roberts University. She has been a professional educator serving as a teacher and professor in elementary and postsecondary education since 1979.


Jerry Eshleman
eAcademy Executive Director

Mr. Eshleman has served as a full-time faculty member in the School of Education since 2000. He began working with eAcademy in 2004. Previous to his current position he has served as a K-12 Christian school principal, assistant administrator and teacher. When Jerry came to ORU in 1999, he filled the position of the tutoring center director. Jerry is completing his Ph.D. in Educational Psychology at Oklahoma State University. He received his Masters from Oral Roberts University and his Bachelors from Central Bible College


Gail Marten
Coordinator of Academic Services & Student Records

Gail is the Coordinator of Academic and Student Services for the eAcademy. She has a BS in both Business Administration and in Business Education and an MA in Christian School Administration all from ORU. She has been in education since 1986, serving as either a secondary teacher or as an administrator. She and her husband, Gary, have 3 daughters-Rebekah, Abigail, and Rachel. Gary and Gail have been in ministry for many years. They served as pastors for several churches in Illinois, helped pioneer a Christian school there, and traveled as music ministers and seminar teachers as well.


Trudy Brock
7-12th Grade Bible

Trudy Brock received a degree in Fine Arts from The University of Oklahoma and later a degree in Elementary Education from East Texas State University, then taught third, fifth, sixth and eighth grades in Texas. After moving to Tulsa and taking a hiatus to care for her third baby, Mrs. Brock taught high school English, computer and second grade at Victory Christian School. She happily serves on the Ministry Leadership Team and in the Mobile Kidz Club at Victory Christian Center. Trudy is certified in Elementary Education.


Stacie Cook
7-10th Grade Math

Stacie is originally from Michigan where she attended the University of Michigan while studying Engineering for two and a half years. She transferred to Oral Roberts University and changed her major to Math Education, which had been a dream of hers since a child. Since graduating from ORU with a bachelor's in Mathematics Education in 2004, she made Tulsa, Oklahoma her home and has taught math at Centennial Middle School. She continues to teach in the public school system while teaching at ORU eAcademy. Stacie is certified in various areas of Mathematics.


Tanner Culbreath
High School Biology

Tanner is a recent graduate of Oral Roberts University with a degree in Science Education, and is currently in his second year of teaching locally in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He also participates in coaching activities at his local school being active in cross country in the spring, and track in the fall. In his free time he loves to camp, mountain bike, and climb. Tanner is certificed in Biology and Earth Science.


Jennifer Hatch
Elementary Grades 3-6

Jennifer Hatch has served as an elementary teacher for ORU eAcademy since 2007. Previous to her current position she served for 12 years as a classroom teacher in local Christian schools. Mrs. Hatch received her Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from Anderson University. She has been a professional educator serving as a teacher and mentor in elementary education since 1995. Jennifer is certified in Elementary Education.


Toni Sanchez
Physical Science, Chemistry and Physics

For the past three years, Toni taught Chemistry, Physics and Physical Science at Victory Christian School in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Though still with eAcademy, she has recently moved to Glendale, Arizona to complete her masters in Biomedical Science before entering Osteopathic Medical School next year. Toni is certified to teach High School Chemistry and Basic Science.


Janet Spear
7-10th Grade English

Before joining the ORU eAcademy team last year, Janet taught English at Victory Christian School in Tulsa, OK, for thirteen years. While there, she was the high school department chairperson for twelve years and was the National Honor Society sponsor for eight years. Mrs. Spear is experienced in English curriculum, having implemented an English pre-AP program and a senior English AP program. In addition, she continues to teach a Scholastic Aptitude Test prep class twice a year. Mrs. Spear earned her bachelor's degree from ORU and is an Oklahoma certificated teacher, qualified to teach Grammar and Composition, American Literature, British Literature, and World Literature in grades seven through twelve.


Lanelle Sutton
7th and 8th Grade Science

Lanelle is currently teaching fifth grade in North Carolina. She has served as an elementary and middle school teacher since 1997. Lanelle received her Masters degree in Education Administration and Curriculum Supervision from University of Oklahoma and her Bachelors Degrees is from Oral Roberts University. Lanelle is certified in Elementary Education.


Nikai Trott
7-12th Grade History

Nikai came to ORU eAcademy from the Island of Bermuda. She has two wonderful children, Dimitri and Darien. They came to the United States so that she could study at Oral Roberts University. She obtained her B.A. in History from ORU in 2003, her M.A. in Curriculum Design in 2004, and is currently pursuing her Ed.D. in College and Higher Education Administration and plans to graduate in May 2009. Nikai is certified in U. S. History, Government and Economics.


Deborah Tumey
Elementary Grades 3-6

Deborah had been a classroom teacher for twenty seven years for Tulsa Public School. She received both her Masters in Reading and Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education at Northeastern State University. During her stay at ORU as an adjunct she has taught Reading Methods, is presently Coordinator of Field-Base Experience, is teaching Reading and she serves on Residency Committees. She has worked in the field of education since 1973. Deborah is certified in Elementary Education, Physical Education and Social Studies.


John Wahl
Secondary Math and Science

John joined the eAcademy staff in January of 2008. He has over 19 years experience in government and corporate technology-based training, as well as secondary teaching experience in a Christian school setting. Mr. Wahl received his Bachelors degree in Education from Louisiana State University in 1985. He lives in south Louisiana with his wife and their nine children. John is certified in secondary chemistry, physics, biology, physical science, English, and mathematics.
